If you want to conserve resources but want a good and long lasting replacement I recommend removing the parts and prepping them yourself. Then take them to a good auto upholsterer. I have seen many kit headliner jobs and usually they are beginning to fail within the year. A proffesional who knows the materials and how to 'stretch' into the profiles of the headliner shell will produce a better result. The tedious process of removing the parts is expensive in time. Make sure the shop understands that 1/4" foam back fabric will look bad and keep the sunroof from sliding smoothly - 1/8" or less is the correct foam back fabric. I prep my own shell parts by scrubbing gently with a plastic bristle brush after pulling the fabric off, and then using a 'scotchbrite' type abrasive to clean it up. Treat the main headliner shell like thin eggshell - they are pretty brittle and do not hold up well to handling. The quarter shells are easy, and the sunroof panel comes out easily once you understand how they work - look in a good manual. I leave the fabric on the sunroof so the layout is obvious for hardware clearances. I do clean the top side of the sunroof carefully as I don't want some one to have to touch it and the new fabric at the same time.
