Boy do I feel dumb. I have had this car for over a year, I've cleaned it, waxed it and generally gone all over it, I have a Bentley Manual and an Owner's Manual but last night was the first time I actually saw that little knob behind the steering wheel, beside the fog light switch!!! I turned it and the various lights slowly lit up. Problem solved! I always thought it had to be simple for all of the lights not to work. I guess this second dimmer was the forerunner of the 'Black Panel' switch on my 1996 900S.
Now all I have left to find is:
1. the slow drain on the battery (1 week of non-use = battery below start capability level (Praise the Sears Security Battery that has a low level cut-off - it always lets me start!)
2. why the air distribution knob turned to the large <=> position doesn't cause the fan to operate (although I think I hear a relay behind the dash when I move the knob from O to <=>), as well, moving the knob does not actuate any vacuum controlled gates. Any ideas??
TIA
