Yes, the elevated funnel with fluid does push the fluid up to the reservior, albeit slowly. That's why I opted to use another smaller hose to help push fluid inside the larger hose and quicken the job. But if left alone, eventually the same would result. And yes, the tube with funnel is still attached to the slave nipple during the last step. In fact, it's crucial, because that means air free fluid is being drawn into the system through that nipple as the clutch pedal is slowly released from the depressed position. If you release it quickly, then any air inside the master cyclinder just squishes past the seals, plus you run the risk of drawing air inside the slave end through the loosened nipple threading.
