I wasn't aware the 86 900S has an Air Mass Meter. You sure it isn't the good 'ol CIS air flow sensor fuel distribution system? I wouldn't know a thing about diagnosing an AMM system, but if the other - something isn't allowing enough fuel into your engine when it bogs down as you described. Perhaps something as simple as a blocked fuel filter? A blockage in the fuel delivery system? The plunger in the fuel distributor is binding? Don't discount a vacuum leak either. Perhaps in one of the components like the aux valve, or the AIC. I do know that non-turbo cars have vacuum hose connections that are not sealed with clamps as are the turbo connections. Perhaps there's a loosening hose connection that becomes active during increased air draw during accelaration. Then there's the really bizarre possibility of a weakening elec connection somewhere that only becomes aggravated with increased rpm vibration.
