Many Dealers will swear that you cannot repair a head that it MUST be replaced. If you look at most if not all manuals it will tell you that if it is warped up tp a certain point that is can be machined or straitened with no problems and should be as good as new. If it has been really overheated and the head is warped beyond a certain point then it should be replaced. I haven't ever had any problem with a head that I have had straitened and machined flat. Also make sure that if it does need to be straited that the cam journals/caps be checked for straitness.
