Red is there for a reason even with factory settings. Your car is running well (cross fingers now!) and that's all it takes to bump into the red at higher rpms.
I "think" the APC (bracket) on the 94 was rivited to the fender; if some one did mod it- they probably would have drilled the rivets out and added screws. Removing APC otherwise- is a pain. What color is your APC box?
Also- the factory gauge is not a percission instrument; my mid-red, my be another guys high yellow.
