Sounds like you might be losing fuel pressure when the car is shut off. Likely if this problem is only when car has not been run for awhile, but car will restart immediately after running. If so, the fuel pressure regulator could be leaking, the injectors could be leaking, or the check valve on the fuel line at the pump could be clogged. To pin it down, you should really check fuel pressure drop when engine is shut off.
Since you probably don't have a pressure tester and fuel rail adapter, first check that the fuel pressure regulator holds vacuum. You can suck or use a vacuum pump on the vacuum line from the regulator, and if it holds your OK. If it doesn't hold, replace FPR (be careful that you don't
swallow any gas!!!). Then try a bottle of good injector cleaner like Techron. If these don't fix, you need to check fuel pressure retention, or problem lies elsewhere(are all your electrical grounds clean?).
