~Temperature & Tires~

I have two questions/concerns with my '86 900 8v. Firstly, I was checking the air in the tires, and noticed that 2 of the tires are rated at 44-psi, and 2 at 35-psi, yet they are they exact same tire, and size. I am assuming one pair is saposed to be on the front, and the others on the back? Right now I have one of the 35psi and one of the 44psi on the front, and same in rear, would that be a problem in anyway- I have had no problems with them, just rotated to accomadate tread wear.
Second thing is this. My temperature guage does not go down all the way, even when its been sitting for days. When I run the car, the guage seems to function properly, goes up and down accourdingly, everything seems to work in my cooling system. Fans go on, coolant circulating ect. But the guage will go very close to the red line before the fan comes on, and will run very hot. However, if when the car is running hot- and I picture where the needle would have been, if the needle would have been all the way down at the bottom of the guage at cold start, then the needle would seem normal, and the fan would actualy be coming on maybe an eighth of the way above the half way point on the guage, which is where it used too. Is this just a faulty guage, or bad ground? Do you even understand what I'm trying to explain!=) Kind of difficult to word it, but just don't want to be overheating it. Please post any thoughts or ideas! Thanks!
