Hi,

I have a 1992 Saab 900 Automatic with 113,000 miles on it. I purchased it a couple months ago and have had some (fairly serious) problems since.

Strong raw gas smell inside the car (I want to say more so when I have just filled the tank-- but who knows).

Engine is loud at 60mph+ (What's the gearing on these cars like? Mine only shifts into 3rd, so I'm hoping there isn't a fourth!).

Brakes feel very stiff and late to actually brake. Haven't driven any other Saabs, but I don't think this could be typical for the car.

If someone could tell me what I should have looked at/replaced to ensure a long, fun life, please respond. I don't have that much money to put into the car, but it's really not fun to drive in this condition!

Help, I don't want my first Saab/used-car buying experience to be a negative one!
