Seat covers are available from Saabstuff.com, but many have complained about slow delivery/instant credit card charge/customer service. Quality of covers and headliners is reported to be very good, however.

Re: the rattle, touch a screwdriver tip to the valve cover near the firewall and hold the handle against your ear. The rattle might be the chain that drives the camshafts hitting a brittle anti-rattle pad that is in the top of the valve cover. Simple to fix and the pad is a few dollars.
If you're not lucky, it also could be a chain that has reached the end of it's life due to normal stretch. AKA death rattle. If the new pad doesn't fix the noise and the screwdriver stethoscope confirms that the chain is the culprit, you need a new chain. If you don't fix this, the chain will eventually snap and then you will need a head rebuild/replacement. There is a chain tensioner in the head that is hidden behind the A/C compressor that will have extended beyond the 11mm spec and can further confirm the chain problem. A new chain can be rolled in cheaply, but the A student would probably want to replace the drive sprocket at the crankshaft, too. This is a fairly major production and involves pulling the engine or at least the head to remove the timing chain cover. how bout a new head gasket, crankshaft main seal, oil pump seal, harmonic balancer, alternator bushings, water pump. Given the age of your car, you could rationalize the chain repair with these other items especially if you have any oil drips near the firewall or the headgasket is original.

Other possible rattlers include the A/C idler pulley or the alternator(due to bad bushings causing visible alternator shake). Both of these would probably rattle continuously, though.
