I don't see any problem in the old rolling jump re-start (clutch pop at 30).
If I get this right, the engine is burning large amounts of oil, but only in the few seconds after startup? That implies to me that oil is leaking into the cylinders when the engine is sitting. I'm going to guess it isn't a head gasket, but instead is one or more valve guides. Pull the spark plugs - I'll be one of them is gooped up, different from the rest. It could be that oil leaks down the worn valve guide overnight into the cylinder. Once the engine is running the valve/guide warm up and seal.
Yes, it could still be a head gasket - maybe others can talk to that. The tough part is that a valve guide is not picnic to replace.
The only other possiblity that immediately comes to mind is oil leaking past a turbo seal. But if that happens when the car is sitting, most likely it will be even worse when driving. But if it happens when cold, I put my money on oil getting into the cylinders while the car sits.
