An '88 900S should be a 16v car, and would not have a fuel distributor. If it is a 16v, you should disconnect the return line from the fuel pressure regulator and the feed line from the fuel rail. If it's an '88 900 base model, with an 8v engine, my personal recommendation is to disconnect the feed & return lines from the distributor and zip tie it to the intake manifold (or some other convenient anchor) and pull it with the engine. Much easier than playing with those potentially brittle fuel lines.
