Just got my 89 900s out of ammco for a rebuilt automatic tranny. While the engine was out, I had a rebuilt alternator and bushings put in. 80A bosch #8545741/a1124x. The car started great, and I was on my way. With each mile the car was getting more and more slugish, and when I pulled in my driveway I lost power sterring. Also the A/C was working when I brought the car in...on the way home hot air was blowing out the vents. Turned car off, and when to restart to close power windows and car wouldn't start. From inside the cabin, I could smell burnt rubber. So my quetions,until I have it towed to mechanics next week, Could the alternator cause the a/c not to work? Would a bad alternator cause the car to drive progressively sluggish with each mile? the battery is brand new. Also looked under rear seat to find fuses for passive belts..are they in front of girder with 25A label, or behind near alarm system? Thanks
