the speakers in front are crap, and probably dry rotted. i have a pretty extensive system in my 87 900t. saabs are bubbles and therfore excellent sonically. anyway. for your amp power cable..you can either run it right off the battery, or you can connect it to the hot lead that is on the upper sode of the fender well. follow the wires and you wiull see a bundle surrounded by rubber. you can push your power line right through that and be in the cabin. you have to remove the door sills and pull back the carpet hiding the engine brain. depending on where you want your amps (mine are under the front seat) you can run your line accordingly. i just poked a hole through the carpet and popped the amp wire through it. if i take the amps out, you'd never see this tiny hole. they get fairly good cooling air circulation, your input lines are much shorter, and most importantly, they are out of sight. you can also tweak them from your seat! enough of that. i'm assuming you have the center console and have two radio sized slots in there. i suggest putting your radio in the bottom slot, which was for an eq. i don';t know your style, so you may or may not have it. basically you want to take out mopst of the center console. this is fairly easy and once out of the way you can easily run all of your amp lines. once you have the stock radio outta there, you can reach up in to the slot and pull; down the wire bundle. unless you want to put your radio in the top slot. i think it looks very cool down below. again a good theft deterrent. your top slot will make it look as though you don't have a radio at all, especially if your aftermarket unit has a detach face. when you get in there, wherever you decide to put your radio, use a battery to sound out the wires to the speakers, then label them. i can't remember what's what off hand. someone will know. you may even be able to buy a direct plug connector from circuit city or best buy or something like that. i just wired mine the old fashioned way. i put sas (bazooka) 4" speakers in my dash, and they sound great!!! about $100. don't scrimp up front, you want some good speaks up there. i don't know how much better separates would be. my bazookas have an external crossover for the woof and tweet. awesome. i am powering them by a fosgate punch 30, they could take more. mine are crossed over at the amp to not see anything under 80hz. i would suggest that whartever you put up there that if you intend to put any kind of power to tehm, you do the same. the 4x10's in the deck can handle a decent amount of juice, but i would block the low bass to them as well. i did'nt and roasted one, so now i have dyanudio 6 1/2" with dynaudio tweets in a box in back. they sit on top of my sub box. 2 JL Audio 10's in a bandpass. my head unit is a sony mobile es detach face cd. she's sounding damn good these days. it's hard tyo get serious sound up front. i have heard of people putting 6" in the doors, with mixed results. anoither guy had kick panel boxes made. his install looks sharp and i'm sure it sounds good, but i can't afford $250 for custom kick boxes just now. i would be ahppy to tell yuou anything else i'v discovered from putting sounds into two different 900's. god luck and i hope my novel helps!
