50 lbs of compression in one cylinder could be a problem. What do the other cylinders run? Get a second test done by someone else on that one or all of the cylinders. Maybe he didn't have a good seal when he tested that cylinder. A true 50 could mean an engine rebuild. Compression shouldn't deviate more than about 20 lbs between cylinders. As I recall 150 lbs of compression is a good number.
