well we need a little better description of the problem and model and year. if it is a turbo the engine has to be jacked up a little. the sam may apply to the non turbo. i have found that such problems generally occur when tiredness is an issue. additionally the manifold and assembly (studs) can deform slightly. if you had to "lever" teh manifold off then things have gotten askew. it is very hard to apply force in that position. try hooking the manifold very slightly over one stud and then lever in such a way to bend the bolt slightly towards the other. or compression. if you see which stud is blocking try putting a nut on it and tapping it slightly to bend it where needed. lots of times those manifolds fit in one position and i mean ONE!!. stop and drink a beer and relax. try it again with recovered vigor. it'll go. non illegitum carborundum.
