notes on disabling the airbag, and mistakes I made...

I recently had to remove the dash on my ’90 Saab with airbag, and wanted to post my mistake to aid others.
There has been lots of discussion about removing the negative battery terminal to disble the airback as opposed to disconnecting the connector on the unit under the steering column.
I removed the battery cable, then disconnected the orange connector under the steering column. Thinking I was now safe, I reconnected the battery cable. BIG MISTAKE!
When I turned the ignition on, the ABS computer registered a fault and now the light flashes and the system is disabled. It will cost $45 at the local dealer to get the fault fixed, assuming there are no problems that need attention.
So, if you disconnect the orange airbag connector on the steering column, MAKE SURE YOU DON’T RECONNECT THE BATTERY BEFORE YOU RECONNECT THE ORANGE CONNECTOR.
