I noticed mobil changed their application catalog listing to the smaller unit. Common sense tells me the bigger the filter, the bigger the filter media surface area. The more filter surface area there is, the better the flow and less restriction. That's why I stick with the bigger one. One theory of using the smaller one is it's easier to change and if you replace it often enough, a bigger filter with more filter area is overkill. I use the mobil filter on my spg and fram ph-16 on the 9000t. So what if I'm wasting the extra $7 on the mobil..it's my spg.
