Ted,

It is addictive, isn't it!!! : - ). It is interesting how you can get up in the morning, with no plans to buy another car,and suddenly one comes along, and the price is too irrestible to pass up. I've been down that road numerous times. At $300 you can't beat that. If the body is too rough, part it out. You will make your money back and then some.

Regarding your questions about the difference between the '87 and '88 is that in '88 and up they moved the emergency brakes from the front to the back. The long pattern changed. As in the '87 you have the studs showing on the wheel hubs, while in '88 and up you will just see a guide pin. You can not interchange the rims. If you want to strip the '88 and use the rims from it to put on the '87, you will have to swap the axles and rerun the e-brake. That is no big deal, since you have the parts car. Last thing, I am not sure, but I think the '87 had air-cooled turbo, while the '88 and up had the water-cooled.

Don't let the wifey get to you. She will just have to deal with it. Saabs are addictive. My wife after all these years, has just given up. I've had over twelve saabs. At any given time, I've had at least two. I currently have a near mint '88 SPG, '89 900turbo, my brothers '68 96, and next week I am picking up a clean AERO(dream car). So, for the next month, they will be four. I am selling the '88 SPG, regrudgely, and the '89. Anyway, good luck.

Patrick
