The parts you need are highly sought after and are very expensive

They are called bumper extensions, and new they are over $300 each! They are extremely hard to find, especially when looking for both sides AND both ends. This is because of the exact reason you are mising them: accidents. These areas of the car are the most likely to get hit, and therefore the most likely panel to be damaged.

I like to contact certain parts dealers a few times a year to see if they have gotten any in. The answer is rarely yes. If they do have them, each used panel will be over $100 each. Sometimes you can get lucky and find them yourself in a junkyard... where they will be as low as $10 a piece. It has happened... and when it does, it is a good day! : )

As far as your 87 convertible being an SPG: nope. 88 brought us the Springtime in Sweden version of the c900, which was a convertible with SPG trim. While not an SPG, it is a truly beautiful car. 91 brought us the 900 SE convertible, which came in platana gray/silver with SPG panels. See Swedish Dynamics' Web site for a fine example of that car (or the movie High Fidelity)

It is very likely that a previous owner added the SPG panels to your car. They may have been added at the dealership, though, too.
