I followed the Bentley manual plus some great tips here on the board. I used a small amount of gasket adhesive in some spots between the "teeth" that hold the gasket in the tracks. I used small amount of Permatex Blue gasket sealant over the plugs/cutouts and the distributor, like the board/books says.
I also took some time to ensure the mating surfaces were clean. Then I quickly but carefully placed the cover with new gaskets on, I got it seated right away.
Then, I carefully tightened down the bolts in a center-to-outwards and crossing pattern... After 1 day looks good. Real test will be in a couple of days when I check the spark plug wells. If they are oil free I will know I did it right.
