I have not 'pulled' the interior light switch but I have released both the motion sensor switch (I have a convertible) and the window switches from the console by getting my fingernails under the switch and levering it/them out to de-gunk them. The careful use of a small, flat blade, screw driver would work if you chew your nails! My switches were gummy from a PO's sloppiness. The switches can be disassembled by carefully prying the pieces apart. Do it over a large cloth as you might just loose a small piece and then its off to the dealer to get a new one. Wash the parts with soapy water to clean the sugary residue, dry the pieces and reassemble into the original format (make a note of what goes where as you take the pieces out or use a second switch as a model - ask me how I know!). The electrical connections can only be re-attached in the correct way. My 'clean' switches caused the non-working items to work. Good luck. BTW I do believe you have to pull the centre console to work on the ignition switch and its ring light, etc. So far I haven't bothered.
