1. Front main seal (near firewall) - as oil hits the rotating harmonic balancer it is flung out in all kinds of places. You must fix this leak if it is the culprit - not doing so can take out the oil pump eventually.
2. Oil pressure sending unit - often leaks or (in my case) the wrong unit was screwed in, resulting in a leak only under pressure (when engine is on). Just above the oil filter.
3. Dirty power steering fluid looks very much like oil. These racks often leak. Some have replaced individual seals; others replace the rack.
You can often see better by cleaning the area using simple green or (better, in my opinion) the purple stuff Pep Boys and others sell for engine degreasing. Spray it on a warm but not hot engine that is dry, let soak for a minute or two, then spray off with a high pressure spray. I used the local car wash booth.
