I took off the oil pump cover and replaced it's O ring seal at the same time. I put the crank seal in the cover by hand. I used a little Indian Head gasket shellac around the outside of the seal so it would not spin in the cover (because the old one looked like it had). I packed the oilpump with Vaseline and installed it. I almost broke off one of the cover bolts using the Townsend site tourgue specs. Either my tourgue wrench is bad or those specs are to high. I replaced the bolts and used my wrist to tell me when they were tight enough. I cleaned the pulley seal mating surface with a pot scrubber and reinstalled it because the rubber in it still looked good. It's been in there and OK for a year. Hope this helps.
