I really wouldn't worry about the chain most cars run in excess of 150k with the original chain. If you just feel the need to check it you [or your shop] could pull the timing chain tensioner [about an hour]and look at the teeth on the tensioner for the "shadow" that will show you how much of the tensioner travel has been used up. Anything less than half travel left and I would change the chain. All of that said again I would just leave it alone. Usually the chain is dealt with when the engine is out for transmission work and not before.
What I would check is the brushes in the alternator. it is an easy check, you are about due with 75K on the car and if they wear out you are on the side of the road.
If the car is an automatic have the bands adjusted by somone qualified. Do this every 25K and you will go a long way toward not having to do that $3000 trans for a long time
