Oh jeez... welp...
The TPS tests okay. The approprate pins get continuity at the appropriate time, at the LH box. The ignition system is completely custom-wired (I converted the magnetic impulse to Hall-Effect), and I get a nice solid ~2.5VAC at the LH box. It's gone as high as 4VAC in tests.
But the ignition switch thingy is a curiosity, since I have installed a late-style shifter housing and redid all that related wiring. It's possible that the two pins may have been switched - were there any other symptoms or things that didn't work? This could be another avenue to explore... I'll read more wiring diagrams tonight. Just wish I had some nice ones for such an old car; the old schematics are tough to decipher.
