#1-Buy a bentley manual. #2-Buy a digital VOM from radio shack. #3-Follow all the steps in the manual. Starting with the easiest, Take the AIC off and clean it with carb cleaner. Test it with ohm meter. Test the AMM.- First do the burn off test-easy. If the wire is broken or the test doesn't work, you need a new one. Then test the risistance to see if your close to 380 ohms if the burn off test worked. Then test the TPS for continuity and adjust it. This is a big cause to weird idling. After that it might be the Coolant temp sensor. I have heard a lot people replacing this and their high idle problems go away when the car is warm. Mine was the TPS-it needed to be adjusted. Both are cheap and easy to replace. Don't forget the 02 sensor. The amm helps keep the car idling when it is cold. When the car is warm, the 02 sensor kind of takes over. All the things above work together in keeping the car running right-idling etc.
Oh yea-check, check, check for vacuum leaks.
Sounds like it might be the AMM beacuse of the rich running-just a guess.
