Dash Cracks: First, minimize further cracking by taking a Dremel drill or equivalent and drilling a small hole at each end of the crack. This dissipates the splitting forces. My cracks are small, so I haven't filled them in, however, I've read here numerous times that black silicone works well.
To keep the dash from getting worse, get a sun shade and use it religiously. Also, people swear by rubbing in small amounts of petroleum jelly (must be done when warm) instead of using products such as Armorall, which some feel exaserbate the cracking problem.
