Bry,
You want the fluid in your brake fluid res. clear as fine Rine wine.
Old dark fluid eats up brake operating parts, expensive.
Brake fluid absorbs moister from air over time.
I suck out what old fluid I can get out of the res. bottle and use a paper towel to clean the container, don't leave any loose lint ect.
Fill with top quality new brake fluid after pads are replaced.
I take each bleeder out, wire brush each esp.threads and add a small touch of anti sieze to the threads only,so they will always come out easily again.
Bleed first the right rear then left rear then right front and lastly left front.
I put a hose on each bleeder that goes into a bottle so brake fluid is not makeing a big mess and brake fluid melts paint.
Keep an eye on the fluid bottle that it is kept mostly full during bleeding.
Go around a couple times doing each wheel a few bleeds per.
Then you have it really right and nice with great pedal response and a really healthy and safe brake system.
Only finally fill fluid bottle 90% full when done so it won't overflow out cap vent and melt other painted parts.
Don't forget to put on all the bleeder dust caps when done to keep out the crap and rust.
