Originally, I was told that I could take everything off and then just replace the fuel computer with one from a '92-'94(convert) and everything would be fine. I thought I would just do some experimentation and see how it turned out. I got the exhasut manifold plug and intake manifold plate and thought I would just go from there. My car was idling so weird from time to time and I could not figure any reason why other than bad AMM or O2 sensor. I plugged the exhaust side and the idle thing got a little worse(still no check engine light). No problem, so I decide to take the intake portion off and plug that side. I disconnected the temp sensor and everything and still no light. I know my light works because it flashes when I start the car. I left the switch that all the vacuum lines connect to electricaly connected. I rerouted all of the vacuum lines associated with the EGR so that none of them went near any pieces of the EGR. For now I do not have any EGR, check engine light, or weird idling. This is all cause for optimism. I hope that it stays like this. I will be adding an air/fuel meter soon so that I am not blind in these situations any more. I wish you and anyone else with EGR luck in getting that damn thing off there.
