Well, I managed to drain the auto trans fluid from my bw-37. Here's my question:
The owners manual says the capacity of the tranny is 8.5 U.S. quarts. That's a lot.
I was assuming I had drained 90% of the fluid out as the dip stick was reading dry. However, by quart #7 of new stuff, I decided to take a look at the level in the sump, and found that it was greatly overfilled.
What gives here? I ran the engine and shifted a few times to make sure there weren't any air pockets that were hanging around, but none. Now its still greatly overfilled and I'm not sure whether I should drain some of the fluid out considering the dip stick reading.
Anyone else have this problem???WHAT ARE YOUR SUGGESTIONS?
