I'd pull the door panel and take a look if I were you. The key does two things for the drivers side door.
1) It physically unlocks the door
2) In doing so it bumps into an actuator that activates the other locks.
If your key rotates but does nothing at all, I'd guess that some of the linkage (on the backside of the lock) has simply come loose. This seems even more likely in light of the fact that that lock is not the original one.
I've never been to Jack's, but I've got some guys that I go to for help. It's at South Houston Motorsports in League city. They're a mustang shop, but are honest and will work on anything. Even a Saab, which they don't have a lot of experience on. I haven't given them the chance to work on mine yet though(recently laid off - gotta do my own work). I may end up letting them do an inner driver before too long.
I got tired of using my keys, so I got the cheapest remote unlock (remote, lights, panic, and horn honk by Black Widow)from BestBuy here in Webster, and had them install it. $180 including the extra parts. The guy who did it was DEFINITELY up on Saab door locks. He said they were a pain to work on, but he did a really good job on mine.
