This may sound like a long shot, but here goes. I am 19 years old, and recently my parents drove their old 85 900i on a long trip across Australia. The poor old thing blew it's head gasket and is now sitting at a garage 8hrs drive away. My parents said i could have the car if i went and got, so, i was thinking of going and getting it, buying a new(old) engine, and with a mechanic friend, fitting it. The car was in great condition, and drove really well, but it was as slow as dogshit. So, i have downloaded the instructions for changing the gearbox to a manual. I was wondering if it were worth the costof the operation, and i was interested to see if it were possible to fit a 900 turbo engine in it. Also any information that might help me on my quest to save a car, Re: ANYTHING would be musch appreciated!!!!!
