The torque on the bolt won't affect the seal operation. It will affect how well the harmonic balancer stays on. Do yourself a favor and borrow a torque wrench and check the harmonic balancer torque.
A couple of possiblities with the main seal. It may just be seating itself in. That's my hope, anyway. The seal isn't supposed to be seated all the way in - that's not what controls the oil. The oil is controlled by the rim of the seal where it meets the crankshaft. Ideally, you install the seal so that it rides on a different part of the crankshaft than the one you replaced. That means the seal is either a little farther in or farther out than the old one. The idea is that the old seal wore a spot on the crankshaft, so you want to install the new seal so that it's riding on a 'clean, fresh' portion of the shaft.
I would live with it and monitor it. If it gets really annoying, you can reseat the seal. Actually for the hassle of removing the harmonic balancer, I'd pull out the seal and stick in a new one. But only if it gets annoying.
Good luck!
