Well...
Ive bought a few and sold a few, and have 2 classics now. The price sounds pretty ok, I think that this new ABS part being refered too is probably the main pump. Is it a 5 speed? has the trans been rebuilt? can you hear any whining from it in 4th or 5th under load? (sign of worn pinion bearing, very expensive rebuild will be needed.) Look under the front end. Are all the rubber bushings/boots in good shape, or are they dried out and cracked? does the owner have a service history for you to see? AC repairs can be very costly, need for a recharge usually means something is leaking. replacing leaking components costs big bucks. Perhaps most importantly (im gonna get a little flaky now) does it FEEL right? Does it stand up and look respectable? Do you feel comfortable adding this car to your family? A Saab can become a very expensive car to own at times... If you will not fall in love with this car you wont want to spend the money on it. I dont know what the market for used Saabs is in your area, but if there are others to see, Id go check them out. If you really want make sure its good, bring it to a Saab mechanic and fork out $50-100 for a prepurchase inspection. Get a good quote on how much its gonna cost you to get the car working the way you want it to. Then work that into the price.
Sorry for the length, and good luck!
