I just had a terrible experience w/ my 89 900T. I was idiling at an exit when all of a sudden a saw a ton of smoke pouring from underneath the hood. I immediately jumped out of the car anc popped the hood open. To my surpise my engine and entire underneath of my care were engulfed in flames. The fire was quickly put out w/ a fire extinguisher, but there was a little damage done. If someone could help that would be great. Feel free to reply to some or all of the following questions:

1. I believe the cause of my fire was oil leaking from the o-ring near the distributor, how easily can that seal be replaced? Where is the best place to get the parts?

2. Some of my vaccuum hoses have been destroyed. One in particular has me puzzled. There are 2 that connect into the valve cover. What is the smaller one used for, and is it necessary to have it. I drove nearly 200 miles home w/out it.

3. Some of the wires near my fuel injectors got burnt. Not all the way through, but they are pretty charred. It seems to run fine, should these be replaced?

4. This question is not related to the fire, but my car idles sometimes as high as 2500 rmp. If I drive it for a while it idles normally, and then goes back up. There is no rhyme or reason.... Any suggestions of what this might be?

5. Finally, when I first start the car up in the morning, it makes a terrible racket. It sounds like valves sticking, but only last 2 or 3 seconds and only on the first startup of the day. Any ideas of what it might be, and how to fix?

Thanks in advance.
