I used two pry bars after I got everything unbolted to pry the pressure plate away from the flywheel. I got enough clearance to get the disc out. After that it was smooth sailing. Since the slave is shot anyway you won't have to worry about damaging it.
Someone else has suggested to cut the slave cylinders piston in half. This would work also.
