Ken:
I have been pondering the same question for the last 2 months. Actually, I am currently restoring a 1985 900 turbo and I started the search for some aftermarket wheel set. After calling Tire Rack and Discount Tire they told me that nothing is available for the 1988 Saab bolt pattern (4X108mm) that I needed (I changed over to 1988 brakes). So, I called an old friend Jeff Kuran at Group A Autotrend (groupawheels.com) and ordered a custom made set of wheels for the car. It is a little (say alot) more expensive this way but it will look better and it will be pretty unusual to see a 900 turbo with 3 piece wheels (I chose the OM series from Simmons, check them out in their web site). I would suggest that you give him a call. As a matter of fact he had never built a set of these wheels for a Saab 900 and mine will be the first. He was kind enough to find a person in his area that had a 900 and he took the required measurements in order to complete the design. Since he already has the measurements then to build a set for you is a piece of cake. Pretty cool huh! Anyway call him and he will help. I guarantee that you and I will have the nicest Saabs.
As far as less expensive option, the only brand I saw that makes wheels for our 900s is RONAL (ronalusa.com) they have a model that is 16in and it is pretty nice. However, I was trying to find a 17in and that is why I am going with the Simmons. E-mail me if you need anything else.
Sincerely, Guri
