Mother in law has been driving car, reported that it got hard to shift into second gear for a couple of days. She left a stop sign, ran through first, shifted to second and went about 20 feet. Car jumped out of second violently and stopped. There are 15 foot long skidmarks in the road where it happened. Had a tow truck bring car home. The front wheels won't turn, the shifter feels like its normal. Car will idle in neutral but when you put it in gear to try to move it, it dies. It kind of seems like maybe its in two gears at the same time. The car and transmission were operating perfectly before this happened...any ideas??
Thanks in advance. Mark in Colorado '86 900t 16v
