I think I found the problem

There is a subtle leak where the plastic reservoir meets the brake master cylinder. I think the fluid is travelling down the brake booster and dripping on the clutch master cylinder at the fire wall. I now recall air coming from this area when I attached a pressure brake bleeder a month ago. I have ordered the two rubber grommets and will replace. DougM you are right and I misspoke (wrote); the clutch slave cylinder is up front. However, there is a hose clamp on the end of the hose going from the reservior to the clutch master cylinder.
I hope it is these two grommets are the solution for it appears to be some serious work getting the the clutch master cylinder for hose clamp replacement.
