For parts, call one (or all) of the sponsors on the bottom of the page. Prices are generally better than the chain places (and infinitely better than the dealer), you're 99.99% assured of getting the right part, and you can get a lot of help. I've been buying parts from Sobstory for a while now and Jim Moncrief has always been very helpful. Cybertroll is great, too.
For your distributor replacement quandry, as long as you don't crank the engine while it's out, all you need to do is to mark the old one before you take it off as a reference. Use something you'll remember like 90 degrees to the plane of the head and also mark the position of the rotor. There are only two ways the rotor can line up. Then pull the old one, put in the new one and match them by eye. Then, time it properly and you're on your way.
