1. Wheel bearing will get VERY loud--a growl or roar, not just an oscillating noise. Also, I noticed that, depending on which direction I turned, the noise would stop completely until I straightened out the wheels again. You'll be able to tell if it gets really loud. I've heard that you can drive on them for a while without worrying, but that the noise will eventually force you to get a new one (as I did).
2. I had one tire on my back left that was actually unevenly worn--I could feel (and see) the unevenness across the width of the tire. Thus, when I drove down the road, there was an oscillation (not very loud, though) at low speeds which got faster and faster as you increased speeds until I noticed that at 70 or 75, it turns into a constant noise/vibration (although the vibration wasn't very strong).
Hope you can use either of these descriptions to help narrow down your problem.
