Help on Passenger Heated Seat Mods

I pulled off the seat cover and fixed it with my wife's industrial sewing machine. I forgot to put the clips into the bottom mesh... While the cover was off I pulled out the thermostat (looks about the size of a button) and attached the wires to each other (jumpered them)
I put a lighted rocker switch in the center by the window switches.
The switch is connected in between the short wire that goes between the 2 quick disconnects on the seat. So, the circuit looks like there is voltage that goes to the seat heater grid and the rocker switch AND the spring loaded pressure switch need to be closed.
So I button the whole thing up, take the car out of the garage and fire it up. I sit in the passenger seat then flick the switch. It lights up. If I get out of the seat, no light. Cool, it seems like it's right, time to zip to the west side of cleveland for an eye appointment and dinner.
My wife picked me up at the eye doctor while I had the pupil dilation stuff in my eyes. I rode shotgun to test the heater, but no luck. The switch lights up, but still no heat. After 10 minutes, no heat. My 9-3 heats up FAST, and the SPG driver's seat is pretty quick.
Any clues? What should I check?
