Caution on Amsoil atf types

When Amsoil began marketing their new racing Automatic Transmission Fluid, some of the literature seemed to describe it as a "type F" and other items said it was for racing only, so I sent an inquiry direct to the factory's product information office and they stated unequivocally that Amsoil's racing atf is for race-prepared cars only, and unmodified SAABs for street use only should use the Amsoil Universal ATF, not the racing stuff. Apparently, the confusion comes because the racing fluid is much like type F in some of its properties: low viscosity and no friction modifiers, for instance, because drag racers using '60s heavy duty automatics often use type F to get very hard and quick shifts even if the trans was originally designed for type A or whatever. The factory expert said that using Amsoil Racing in a street type F car could put excessive stresses on the rest of the unmodified drive line by hard and sudden shifting. Personally, when I get done overhauling my daughter's transmission, I intend to put in about 3/4 Amsoil universal and 1/4 Amsoil racing and see if I can hit the mark of the way type F should behave and still have synthetic's benefits, but I'm going to have regular type F on hand ready to go if it does anything strange in the first few hundred miles.
