But aren't the thermostats in earlier cars actually switches that open at a certain temp?? IF so, you only have to remove them and short the wires together. THen the seat will heat up until you have to jump out to avoid getting your rear burned. Later cars with the heater control switch in the dash have a real thermostat that tells the switch the temp of the seat. Then you can select three different temps. Your setup will work but you'll have to cycle it on and off, just as the thermostat/thermo switch would have. Why not just replace the thermo switches?
