A dealer's mechanic informed my daughter that her cold start stall out was diagnosed to be the fault of a bad idle control motor. I cleaned the part with carb cleaner and it seemed to help but 5 hours away from home the car refused to start. She disconnected the AIC and has been driving it for about a month. She returned home and I had a new idle stablizer purchased which I installed. The vehicle would not start at all. I disconnected the AIC and the car started and stayed running until I reconnected the electrical at which point the vehicle immediatly killed. A hissing noise at the engine and a humming toward the rear of the vehicle indicated the the fuel pump was continuing to run. I verified this by pulling the appropriate fuse and reinserting. After disconnecting the negative battery terminal and reconnecting the fuel pump no longer stayed running. Now the vehicle will not run at all with or without the AIC connection. I need real mechanic's opinion and advice here because the closest dealer mechanics are at least 4 hours away. Ideas and suggestions please.
