SPG's in Cleveland Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
OK, before I left for Thanksgiving in L.A. I saw a gray SPG at Mayfield and Coventry. On the way to pick up my wife and head for the airport, I saw a black SPG at Mayfield and Lander (it was driving east on Mayfield). This was at 2:40PM. Now, why is it that I've seen only 1 other SPG in Cleveland (not counting Crystobal's), then I see 2 in a day? Are you folks reading this board?
Cool note on L.A. I went the Petersen Auto Museum in L.A. and it is truly a gem. Great cars, neat exhibit called something like "Cars and Guitars" with nice axes and lots of rock star cars. Janis Jopolin's Porsche 356 was probably my favorite. They had a nice Vette and E-Type next to each other for the song "Dead Man's Curve". I know a lot of us think the C900 is about the coolest looking car going, but the old vettes, Jag XKE's, and Porsche 356 really make me drool.
Driving back to the highway I saw a mint silver/grey Saab 99. Looked great. I still can't get over seeing old cars when I'm on the west coast, it's a rolling auto museum! Would I ever see a AMC Javelin AMX in Cleveland? Datsun Z's? NO! It's always a hoot.
