We recently replaced the headliner on our 1987 900S, including the part on the manually-operated sunroof. To do that, you have to take the sunroof out, which requires disassembling the latching mechanism. Got it all done, put it all back together... and the latch no longer worked. The sliding handle slid OK, but didn't disengage the latch. We ended up reinstalling the sunroof with the latch disassembled. Of course, before making this discovery, we'd greased the tracks (seemed like a good idea, since we were in there anyway). Now when you accelerate uphill, the sunroof slides open. Sigh. Our local Saab mechanic is more of an engine guy than a body guy -- he's very reluctant to try fixing it. Haven't had any luck with the local dealer's service shop, either. Also no help from Saab USA. Does anyone out there know how to assemble and adjust the mechanism so it works? Meanwhile, we keep sliding it shut when it opens itself...
