I just had the wheels aligned; great shop - hah, hah. tech says it's too hard to change the shims to make any money in the time alloted for the job. If caster/camber is at all wihin the spec range he calls it good. Basically paid $60 for a toe adjust. And this place was recommended by a SAAB dealer. Needless to say I won't be going back...
Anywhays; at least now I know what the settings are, but the camber/caster on the left is at the lower end of the range, and the right is at the upper end. Not exactly the best set up.
Does anyone know how much shim thickness to add for a given change in camber? ie to move the camber 0.25 deg. you add/remove x mm of shim thickness on both suspension mounts. I would also like info on the caster change. How much shim to move from rear mount to front (or front to rear) to move the caster x amount.
PS. I never said this but the shop was Chapel Hill Tire, chapel Hill, NC
TIA
