I don't understand where you were connecting the jumper cables to start the car. Normally you connect the positive jumper cable to the positive terminal on the battery, and the negative to the car frame or to the negative terminal on the battery.
Were you running wires/jumper cables from the battery in your car to somewhere else in the car (ignition?)
A big spark means that you produced a short somewhere.
Right now you've got two problems: whatever was wrong with the car before you tried to jump it, and whatever you did when jumping it. So start at the beginning:
1. When you tried to start the car before you tried to jump it, what were the symptoms. When you turned the key what happened? Did it turn over normally but not fire, turn over slowly, not turn over at all but give a click, or do nothing at all.
2. When you were trying to jump it, where did you have the jumper cables connected? At the battery, or elsewhere (where?)? Were the jumper cables coming from another battery (other than the one in the car)?
Where did the sparks fly? From the metal jaws of the jumper cables, or elsewhere (where?).
3. Have you checked the fuse block for blown fuses and replaced any that were blown?
4. Is the battery in the car fully charged? If in doubt, take it to a parts store and have them check it. Most will do that for free. With a fully charged battery and good fuses, see how it goes.
In the end you'll probably have to find someone with some electrical knowledge to help sort this out. I don't blame the dealer for not wanting to mess with it. Electrical problems can be time consuming to diagnose and repair. Your problem could be as simple as a dead battery and some blown fuses, or it could be a slew of fried electronics.
